Are you in Lisbon or plan to visit this beautiful city? Would you like spending a few hours having fun with making jewelry, which you can take home?

Here you can book one of my classes with a deposite (50€ now, the rest - after class). I hope you already contacted me on Intagram/Telegram @materialmaya or by email mymaterialmaya@gmail.com so we could discuss available dates, time windows and type of the class.

Classes take place in my Lisbon studio, near Martim Moniz Square, a few times a week. Each session lasts 2–5 hours (depending on the design) during which you’ll create a unique piece of jewelry. You’ll learn how to handcraft a piece from scratch using a variety of metalsmithing techniques. If you wish, you can set semi-precious natural stones into your creation. All materials are included in the price up to certain limits, except for workshops with gold. Please browse the pictures for more info and choose the class that suits you.

For workshops with gold please first read this FAQ. If you want to become a jewelry artist, check my 4-day intensive course. In case you want to present a workshop or a course to your friend, purchase a gift certificate.

You will wear the proper safety equipment (which I provide too) to minimize the possible risks of working with different tools and materials.

Once your payment is complete, classes can be rescheduled upon request in case of force majeure, fed be great if you give me a 24-hour notice. Please note, however, that I am usually booked 1 to 1.5 months in advance.

See you and hope you'll enjoy getting new skills ;)

If you’re looking for a truly unique experience, I can’t recommend Material Maya enough. You don’t just make jewellery - you create it from the very beginning, melting the silver, shaping and annealing it, and bringing your own design to life.

Maria is a wonderful teacher who guides you every step of the way, making the whole experience feel personal, relaxed, and incredibly rewarding. Walking away wearing something you’ve crafted with your own hands makes it even more special.

A special mention to Shadow, Maria’s trusted feline apprentice, who adds plenty of character to the studio! One of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had, and one I’d recommend to anyone visiting Portugal.

Amazing day creating our own rings. The whole workshop was really well structured. We learned all the steps how to make a ring. We were very happy with the final results.
Maria was extremely informative and was gently guiding us through every step.
We can wholeheartedly recommend this workshop as a fun educational afternoon.
Thank you Maria 😊 Anne & Leena

If you’re looking for a way to bring home a memory instead of another souvenir that ends up in the back of a closet, I can’t recommend Maya and Shadow (the cheerleading cat) enough.

Spending an afternoon making rings with Maya was one of the highlights of our time in Lisbon. She was warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and personal. She guided each of us through the process of creating a ring that reflected our own style, while sharing fascinating insights about the craft along the way.

When one of our rings turned out a little too big, she took the extra time to make it right and walked us through the resizing process, which was interesting to see and made the experience even more memorable.

By the end, we didn’t just leave with beautiful handmade rings, we left with a story, and a much deeper appreciation for the work that goes into creating something by hand.

Thank you, Maya (and Shadow!) for such a special afternoon.
