For me the favorite character in my father’s paintings was always a little puffy birdie. It appeared again and again in his creations, even in the wood and ivory carvings. It influenced me a lot and I brought a similar birdie into my graphics in my twenties (as a tribute to my father), and now, after years of working with silver, I’ve noticed it has slipped into metal too. This is the very first silver piece I ever made, though I probably only did about 30% of it myself 😅 At the time, back in 2017, I knew almost nothing about silversmithing and joined a private workshop in Bali, very much like the ones I now hold in Lisbon.
