For me the favorite character in my father’s paintings was always a little puffy birdie. It appeared again and again in his creations, even in the wood and ivory carvings. It influenced me a lot and I brought a similar birdie into my graphics in my twenties (as a tribute to my father), and now, after years of working with silver, I’ve noticed it has slipped into metal too.
First, I made it into a ring.

Later I added long danglings and turned it into a pendant. That’s how a small Siberian forest birdie transformed into a bird of paradise, much like my own life after moving to tropical countries for 16 years.

This design also invites endless experiments with gemstones. I’ve used labradorite, turquoise, moonstone, garnet, and larimar.

But my favorite version is the one with beautiful kyanites.

These earrings went through a few transformations too, and now the best version is available in my shop, only one pair.

Fun fact: when I was creating these pictures to show them on a model, one short text prompt brought me this girl...

... who looks just like Khaarchaana, a friend from my homeland Yakutia, who has been wearing the first version of these earrings for years!

By the way, a pendant with turquoise and larimar is also available here.

I feel like I haven’t finished this story yet, and I’ll probably keep exploring new stone combinations and adding more details. No matter how many techniques I learn or how my style changes, I think these birds will stay in my creations as long as I keep creating.
